Tattoo Removal
Although the fact that a tattoo is permanent may not bother many people when they initially have a tattoo done on their bodies many people later come to regret having the tattoo and start to investigate whether it can be removed.
Although the technology exists nowadays to successfully remove most tattoos it may not be readily available to you unless you are prepared to pay for the tattoo removal privately out of your own pocket. Many NHS areas will not have funding for this kind of cosmetic surgery and those that do many only remove tattoos if there is a specific medical or psychological reason for doing so.
The most common way of having a tattoo removed here is by laser or light surgery. Here laser light is pulsed on the surface of the tattoo which basically breaks up the pigments of the tattoo ink which are then removed by your system. Treatment here may need to be repeated a few times depending on the size of the tattoo and the colours used in it.
Other treatment options here include dermabrasion - here the top layers of your skin are basically removed. This method, like vaporisation (which uses a carbon dioxide based laser), can leave scars behind. Finally, people with very small tattoos can talk to surgeons about having then cut out. Again, however, this will leave a scar of some kind depending on the size of tattoo that is to be removed.
